EDIT: Because almost everyone who's commented on this has mentioned the lack of brick texture in the mural, I will take the time to explain myself in a manner I have previously not done. I intentionally left out brick texture within the mural to be consistent with the idea that the shadow itself is painting it. The mural is not ACTUALLY there, it is a figment of my imagination that is coming to life through my shadow and onto the wall. Hopefully that clears that up? /EDIT

OH BY THE WAY. I WOULD SO APPRECIATE COMMENTS ON THIS ONE, GUYS. Honestly, I would be indebted to you.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh D:

Before I go on, please humor me for a moment as I brag rant about how I

COLORED THIS ENTIRE SUCKER IN ONE SITTING.

Honestly, I just spent from 8:45 AM to noon sitting on my couch surrounded by markers and pains and crayons to finish this god-forsaken thing.

So I'm really glad that I'm happy with the way it came out.

Because if I hated it, that would just be cruel on the part of the universe.

OKAY SO

Because I'm superstitious I'm keeping the real reason behind this picture a secret. But I WILL say it has to do with a summer art program at...a college.

I feel like such a theater person. IT'S THE SCOTTISH PLAY, NEVER SAY THE NAME.

But yeah, I can sort of tell you the meaning behind the picture.

The girl walking is me, (self-portrait was a required part of this,) as you should probably all recognize by now, seeing as you've seen me a few times now. (In both real and drawn forms.)

I admit the shadow moving independently was partially inspired by Dr. Facillier. At first I was just planning on the mural having no specific connection to the image of me in the picture, but then I was all "make the shadow paint the mural!" and this happened.

I wanted the mural part to be more stylized than I usually do, so I used a swirl-based, kind of surrealistic thing for it, and I'm really happy with how it looks. And of course it's Zeke and Mimi because they're my most recognizable characters, and also probably my most developed. (Not to mention they make a nice action pose.)

The cat is Penelope, she's from Milo's story. I thought she was a nice touch, since she's sort of a "supernatural" feline.

BRICKS.

WHY DO I DRAW SO MANY BRIIIIICKS.

D;

FYI brick texture was created by paint, paper towels, and crayon.

Dammit this got really long, and I barely said half of what I'd been thinking of about this picture. HOW DO I DO THAT, EVERY TIME. D<

I've left this deviation in the dephts of my inbox for a long time, hoping that I'd someday be able to write a comment that would live up to it's brilliance. I've realized that I'm not able to do that, but what I can say that I simply love this! All the way from the original concept, the beautiful colours and of course the wonderful execution. The idea with the shadow is just so lovely, and I simply adore the style in which this was drawn. Absolutely wonderful work! :)
